How to Send a Yac

A Yac is a voice or video message you can use to discuss what would have otherwise required a meeting. Voice offers more detail than text, but still allows for asynchronous communication so you don’t have to schedule a call.

Here’s how to send one!


On Desktop

Click “New Conversation” button on the bottom of the screen. 

  1. Select who you’d like to send a Yac to. You can choose individuals, Discussions, or record to a shareable link
  2. Once you’ve selected who you’re sending to, press either “Record Voice” or “Record Screen”
  1. If you choose to record your screen, select which window you would like to record.
  1. When you’d like to end your message, press “Stop recording”
  2. Add your Yac’s title and any necessary links and then click “Send Yac.”

On Mobile


  1. Click “New Conversation” on the bottom of the screen. 
  2. Select who you’d like to send a Yac to. You can choose individuals, Discussions, or record to a shareable link
  3. Once you’ve selected who you’re sending to, click “Record Voice”
  1. To add video to your message, click the camera icon to the left of the screen. 
  2. From here, press the circular record button in the center or the button beside it to change cameras.
  1. When you’d like to end your message, press “Stop recording”
  2. Add your Yac’s title and any necessary links and then click “Send Yac.”



Now you can start using Yac to conduct your meeting follow ups, meeting prep, standups, project update meetings, and more.
